All schools are required to appoint an external advisor to assist in the annual review of the head teacher’s performance and to advise governors on appropriate remuneration and targets.

 

As a  retired headteacher with over 24 years’ experience of headship in special schools and experience as an HMI inspector, I feel I am able to facilitate your own performance management. As a result of my own positive experiences of performance management, I firmly believe that effective performance management can greatly help drive the school improvement process and improve what matters, outcomes for children. 

 

Although you may well have performance management systems in place,  sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can have a significant impact. Acting as a professional and sometimes critical friend, I can use my experience as a headteacher to guide you to make an even greater impact on what really matters in your school.
